Christmas break-Snow in Dallas??
So, I hardly got any snow over the break at my parent's house in Pennsylvania. The most snow all of break was during the wait on the taxiway in Dallas as the plane had to be de-iced. It was 27 degrees in Dallas when I flew out and 56 degrees when I flew into Philadelphia. Hmmm. Although a bit miffed at the lack of snow in Pennsylvania, I decided to pretend there was snow and build a fire in the fireplace at the folk's place almost every night I was there. I really wish I had a fireplace here in Texas, especially because there is no central heat in my house right now. But, all in all, break was really good. I had time to relax. I read a little bit. I read C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce. I would recommend it, especially if you don't have time to read one of Lewis's longer works. This one could be read in an afternoon, but it does have a lot of ideas that will make you think about your perceptions of the afterlife and how what we do here has a cause and effect there.

It's been a while since I've been here.
I Loved (with a capital l) The Great Divorce, so one of the guys from our home church gave me The Screwtape Letters, but I can't seem to start it.
Since you're super-busy with student teaching and moving right now, and I'm super-busy with work and thesis-writing, I vote that we start an Internet book club to avoid doing what we should be. We'll mostly say things like, "Yeah, I liked it. Did you like it? Okay, cool." When we're done with Lewis's short novels, we'll move to the entire Narnia set.
Great? Great.
